Services for
Minorities and
People with
Disabilities

The Anne Arundel County Mental Health Agency (AACMHA) is dedicated to ensuring that county residents with disabilities have equal access to public mental health services. In keeping with this commitment, There is a specially-tailored program for county residents who are deaf and need mental health services. We will develop additional specific programs for people with disabilities as needs are identified.

The Maryland Relay for the Deaf contact number is (800) 735-2258.

Services for Minorities
AACMHA is committed to addressing racial, cultural and language barriers that might prevent county residents from receiving effective mental health services. We have instituted outreach and cultural sensitivity programs geared toward increasing the participation of Hispanic, Asian and Native American residents in the public mental health program.

Services for the Homeless
AACMHA supports the Assertive Community Treatment Program and Shelter Plus, which oversee mental health services for the homeless.

Services for Inmates
AACMHA works in conjunction with the two Anne Arundel County detention centers to ensure that inmates have access to necessary mental health services, both inside the detention centers and after release to the community.
