Hoarding behaviors can diminish quality of life for individuals and negatively affect families and communities. Hoarding is a complex issue that is often resource, time, and money intensive. As a social worker, it will be helpful to gain insight into the behaviors, risk factors, and common comorbidities. Using a trauma-informed approach, best practices in interventions and community resources will be discussed as well as newer research and innovations.
