Anne Arundel County Substance Misuse Prevention Coalitions Youth and Adult Listening Session at Severna Park Library

The Anne Arundel County Substance Misuse Prevention Coalitions are hosting Youth and Adult Listening Sessions around the county to gain information about how our community perceives drugs and alcohol. These sessions take about 90 minutes to complete. 


These Listening Sessions are to Identify factors contributing to substance misuse in Anne Arundel County to inform collaborative public health/substance use prevention activities and enhance capacity for effective prevention. 

Additionally, identify strategies using data collected to improve the utilization of community-level evidence-based approaches to prevention. Lastly, to identify the substance use, attitudes and perceptions of community members and youth in relation to prescription opioids alcohol and marijuana.

-Audience: Adult community members (18 - 85)  and youth community members (11-17) living in Anne Arundel County

-Staff Role and Responsibilities: 

Moderator : Give introduction, welcome, and closing remarks; time keeper for the discussion. 
Facilitator(s): Facilitating the discussion; ask participants questions. 
Historian: Document participant responses via audio recording and note-taking. 
Greeter(s): Greet participants and direct them to where to sit; provide necessary paperwork; distribute and collect survey; manage refreshment table
