What does the term “high-conflict” mean?

We see it being used to describe couples in couples therapy, some of whom may go onto have a divorce similarly categorized as “high-conflict.” How do we know when that term is being misapplied to a situation of domestic abuse/covert narcissistic abuse or post-separation abuse? What are the implications for how we do our work?

This training is appropriate for anyone who does family therapy, couples therapy, and child therapy; and for those currently acting as or interested in becoming a parenting coordinator, custody evaluator, etc. This training will be of interest to those who want to learn more about narcissism and narcissistic abuse as well. In addition, the webinar will touch on topics specific to 2SLGBTQ+ survivors.
