This workshop focuses on values, ethics, and the law. It establishes the importance of ethics in guiding professional behavior. Because of its significance, I will examine the National Association of Social Workers Code of Ethics (revised 2021).
It will allow participants to increase their knowledge of professional, legal, and ethical standards of practice, their role in competent, ethical social work practice, and times when legal and professional standards collide.
This workshop will also allow participants to develop self-awareness of the interplay between personal values and professional behavior. Participants will engage in examining ethical dilemmas and applying the proposed decision-making model.
