This interactive workshop is designed for social workers seeking to deepen their understanding and enhance their skills in trauma-informed care for immigrant and refugee populations.

Participants will explore best practices when encountering individuals, particularly children, who have had these kinds of experiences, including how to structure an intake appointment from a client-centered, anti-racist, trauma-informed approach.  Emphasis will be placed on culturally attuned therapeutic approaches that honor the diverse backgrounds and resilience of immigrant communities.

Through case studies and practical tools, attendees will learn to recognize trauma responses, address acculturation stress, and foster healing environments that are responsive to the unique needs of immigrant clients.
