This course provides a comprehensive introduction to perinatal mood and anxiety disorders (PMADs), including depression, anxiety, and other mental health conditions experienced during pregnancy and the postpartum period.

 Participants will gain an understanding of the various types of PMADs, their risk factors, signs and symptoms, and effective screening tools. Emphasis will be placed on the importance of early identification, appropriate referrals, and culturally sensitive care to improve maternal mental health outcomes. 

The course will also explore evidence-based treatment options, including psychotherapy, pharmacology, and support systems for both the parent and their family.
