Ethics and Artificial Intelligence in Therapy: Threat or Powerful Problem-Solver?

8:40 AM-12:00 PM ET

Technology has revolutionized access to mental health services for people around the world. However, the ethical challenges presented by the rapid expansion of the use of technology in our field cannot be overstated. The use of artificial intelligence (AI) in mental health practice presents both benefits and significant risks.

This session will provide an introductory level of understanding of AI and how it is currently being used in mental health practice, with a significant conversation around the possibilities for the future.

Trauma-Informed Approach to Moving Beyond Cultural Competence to Cultural Intelligence

12:40 PM-4:00 PM ET

This training provides participants with the opportunity to deepen their understanding of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion work. While many have participated in “Cultural Competence” training, challenges remain in finding effective ways to truly connect with and support diverse client populations. This workshop moves the conversation forward by situating Equity and Diversity work within a Trauma-Informed Framework. Trauma continues to be a critical focus due to its long-term adverse effects on both physical and mental health. Participants will examine cultural dynamics in depth and take steps toward advancing this important work in their practice.

This course fulfills the new Maryland requirement for Anti-Oppressive Social Work CE credits and also meets cultural diversity CE requirements for many other states.
