A collaborative exploration of how the holiday season can intensify eating disorder symptoms, disordered eating behaviors, and body image distress. Drawing from both psychotherapy and nutrition perspectives, Lindsay (LCSW, CEDS) and Georgia (MS, RD, CEDS) will guide participants through an interdisciplinary approach to assessing, conceptualizing, and supporting clients navigating holiday-related eating challenges.
Participants will explore how holiday gatherings, family dynamics, social eating, and cultural expectations can impact eating disorder presentations.
The workshop will help clinicians differentiate between normative holiday eating experiences and clinically significant eating disorder behaviors. Clinicians will strengthen skills by engaging in case study and discussion to boost confidence treating clients from a weight-inclusive and trauma-informed approach.
This workshop is designed to provide clinicians with applicable tools, language, and clinical frameworks to support clients during a triggering season.
