Do you often find yourself unsure of what you truly need in different situations? Whether it's the desire for space, understanding, or a sense of choice, many of us struggle to pinpoint our psychological needs. Join us for an engaging workshop designed to help you unravel this complex web!
In this dynamic session, you will dive deep into why identifying and fulfilling our needs can be challenging. Explore two foundational theories of human needs: Self-determination theory and a comprehensive look at Maslow’s theory of human motivation—beyond the familiar pyramid model.
You’ll discover the powerful connection between your emotions and your needs, gaining insights that will illuminate your personal experiences. Through interactive exercises, you’ll practice using a need-identification tool to uncover your own needs more clearly.
To put your newfound knowledge into action, you’ll work with a practical worksheet that will guide you in recognizing your needs across various situations. Plus, you’ll brainstorm creative and effective strategies for meeting those needs.
Learning Objectives:
Describe at least three psychological needs you have experienced in a specific experience during group discussions.
Summarize the key principles of self-determination theory and Maslow’s theory of human motivation and explain their relevance to personal experiences.
Identify and articulate at least two emotional responses you have experienced in relation to unmet needs, demonstrating an understanding of the emotion-needs connection.
Complete a need identification exercise using the provided tool, successfully identifying at least three personal needs within a specific experience.
