3 Anti-Oppressive Social Work Practices CEs
This session will explore the ways that our implicit and explicit biases affect how we navigate and interact with the world. Additionally, we will discuss how our bias can positively and negatively affect our interactions with clients.
Before the workshop, participants are required to access Project Implicit and complete the following implicit association tests (IAT) in order to actively participate in the session: (1) Race IAT, (2) Skin-tone IAT, (3) Sexuality IAT, (4) Weight IAT, and (5) Disability IAT.
Objectives:
Develop an understanding of the basic principles of dialogue and facilitation.
Gain an increased understanding of their identity development and the development of others.
Practice applying facilitation skills.
