In this workshop, Dr. Tony Dice dives deep into the complex intersection of Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), grief, and Substance Use Disorders (SUD) within the Service Member, Veteran, and Family (SMVF) community. As the holiday season approaches—when emotional triggers are high—behavioral health professionals will gain critical insights into how these invisible wounds can lead to devastating consequences.
This session equips counselors, peer specialists, and clinicians with the knowledge and tools needed to better understand, treat, and support the SMVF community through their unique challenges.
Webinar Learning Objectives:
Understand the Impact of TBI and Grief on Substance Use: Participants will explore how Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) and grief uniquely contribute to Substance Use Disorders (SUD) within the SMVF community.
Identify Risk Factors and Warning Signs: Behavioral health professionals will learn to recognize the key risk factors, emotional triggers, and behavioral cues of SUD, particularly during high-stress periods like the holiday season.
Apply Evidence-Based Treatment Strategies: Attendees will gain practical, evidence-based tools and strategies to effectively address the intersection of TBI, grief, and SUD, tailored to the unique needs of service members, veterans, and their families.
