This seminar will take participants on an exploratory journey of microaggressions beginning with definitions and examples of various types of microaggressions. Participants will then engage in self-reflection exercises that promote the examining of Cultural lenses and identification of blind spots that may lead to microaggressions. This seminar will provide participants with the tools to notice and identify microaggressions in real time. Participants will also learn and practice skills that lead to repair and avoid ruptures after microaggression show up.


Learning Objectives: At the end of this workshop, Participants will:
1. Define microaggressions
2. Learn how to identify microaggressions
3. Learn how to identify the impact of microaggressions on a personal and systemic level.
4. Begin to evaluate their automatic behaviors and the motivations for the continence for those behaviors related to microaggressions
5. Learn how to implement steps that lead to repair after microaggressions have been identified.
