Join the Maryland Health Care Coalition Against Domestic Violence for a seminar presented by the Ohio Domestic Violence Network, designed to provide participants with a deep understanding of mental health challenges and practical techniques for using Motivational Interviewing (MI) to support individuals in making positive changes.
Through a combination of theory, and interactive exercises, attendees will learn how to effectively engage with individuals experiencing mental health struggles, foster a non-judgmental, empathetic space, and empower them to explore and resolve ambivalence toward change.
Key learning outcomes include:
--Understanding the basics of common mental health issues and their impact on behavior.
--Exploring the principles and spirit of Motivational Interviewing.
--Building skills in using MI techniques to enhance motivation and promote behavioral change.
--Strengthening communication strategies to support individuals in their mental health journey.
By the end of the session, participants will feel equipped with the tools and knowledge to apply Motivational Interviewing in a mental health context, fostering positive, lasting outcomes for those they work with.
