This specialized course is designed for mental health professionals in high-stress environments, such as emergency services and community mental health. This course addresses the unique challenges of managing burnout and compassion fatigue while dealing with high client demands.

Participants will engage in scenario-based role-playing to practice effective burnout management strategies and engage in group discussions focused on workload distribution and self-care practices. By sharing best practices for self-preservation in crisis situations, attendees will develop a comprehensive toolkit for balancing high caseloads with personal mental health care.

After this course, participants will be able to:

Recognize the symptoms of burnout and compassion fatigue in themselves and colleagues.
Develop strategies for equitable workload distribution to reduce stress and prevent burnout.
Practice techniques for managing burnout in high-pressure situations through role-playing exercises.
Share and adapt best practices for self-care by collaborating with peers to share effective self-care techniques and resilience-building practices.


Target Audience and Course Delivery: This includes, but is not limited to, Psychologists, Social Workers, Counselors, and other mental health professionals. The instructional level of the activity is advanced.
