This workshop exposes supervisors to critical knowledge and skills, situational scenarios, and strategies for effective leadership. Participants will examine issues related to workplace culture, climate, and personal differences that institutionalize various types of behavior and interactions. Participants will begin developing a leadership development plan. 

Learning Objectives:

Understand the purpose, function, and contextual factors for supervisors as leaders.  

Examine the importance of key leadership competencies and qualities of exemplary leaders.

Discuss leadership theories, individual differences, and the impact on the supervisory relationship.  

Explore supervision methods and processes.

Explore ways to address conflict and more effectively communicate.

Prepare a draft leadership development plan. 


This workshop is designed for human service supervisors and managers who are new to supervision or have some supervisory experience and would like to sharpen their supervisory/leadership skills.
