Webinar: Using Motivational Interviewing (MI) in Supervision and Supervising MI Work

This workshop is designed for social workers and other behavioral health professionals who would like to use MI skills within supervision and/or social workers who are responsible for providing clinical supervision to students or employees who implement MI in practice settings. 

This workshop is appropriate for those who have a working understanding of MI knowledge, basic MI skills, and engage in the supervision of others. Teaching methods include didactic instruction, video clips, individual reflection and development plan creation, paired practice (audio capacity from your phone or computer required), and large group discussion via written chat.  

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:


Learn a MI-informed framework for supervision.  

Develop individualized MI-informed model for supervision.  

Apply supervision models to a work sample, engaging in goal-setting and self-reflection.  

Practice implementation of feedback based on supervisory framework and an individualized model using MI skills. 

This workshop meets the Maryland Board of Social Work Examiners’ requirements for Supervision CEs.
