Maryland Office of Suicide Prevention Releases Firearm Safe Storage and Youth Suicide Prevention Toolkit

As part of  ongoing efforts to reduce youth suicides, reduce firearm violence and improve
health outcomes for all Marylanders, the Maryland Department of Health (MDH) developed a Firearm Safe Storage and Youth Suicide Prevention Toolkit.

Today’s youth are navigating social and emotional development, the complexities of the digital
world, discrimination, and more. For many, these issues can contribute to mental and emotional
distress. Access to unsecured firearms can result in suicide, serious injury, or violence towards
others.
