The National Council on Aging 9th annual Older Adult Mental Health Awareness Day Symposium (Virtual)

The symposium is designed to raise awareness of older adult mental health and substance use disorders and highlight resources, case studies, and initiatives available to professionals working with adults age 50+ living in the community. The 9th annual symposium will feature leaders in the field who are successfully partnering across sectors to improve older adult mental well-being.

The day will begin with a Welcome and Keynote address. Participants can select from three (3) breakout sessions in the morning followed by a Spotlight session at 1:00pm EST. The afternoon will include three (3) breakout sessions to choose from and a closing session.

At the end of this learning activity, participants will be able to:

Examine common behavioral health concerns and their impact on older adults.
Describe initiatives, strategies, and promising practices that can improve access and increase participation in behavioral health programs.
Identify and implement actionable strategies to support the mental well-being of older adults in your community.
