Advancing Supervisory Skills: Improving Emotional Intelligence for Workplace Conflict Resolution
8:30 AM-12:00 PM ET
3.0 CREDIT HOURS
Valid for Maryland Social Work Supervision CEs
Supervision in the mental health field requires more than clinical expertise. Supervisors are responsible for supporting staff, protecting clients, managing performance concerns, and upholding ethical standards — often while navigating emotionally charged situations. Difficult conversations, defensiveness, team tension, and boundary challenges are part of the role. This interactive three-hour workshop is designed for both new and experienced supervisors who want practical, structured tools to handle these moments with greater confidence and professionalism.
Through case discussion and applied exercises, participants will explore conflict resolution strategies, practice self-reflection and self-regulation techniques, and develop a personalized plan to strengthen at least one domain of emotional intelligence. Attendees will leave with actionable approaches they can immediately apply in supervision sessions and workplace conversations — while earning clinical supervision continuing education credits.
