3 Supervision CEs
Effective supervision is essential to ethical, competent social work practice, yet supervisors often operate under significant workplace pressures, competing demands, and evolving practice environments. Many supervisors carry responsibility for client safety, staff development, and organizational expectations simultaneously, creating role strain and ethical stress that can impact decision-making and communication.
This training focuses on practical skills for providing intentional, thoughtful supervision in contemporary settings, including remote teams, telehealth practice, and emerging technologies such as AI-supported documentation tools. Participants will examine how time pressure; administrative demands; and competing responsibilities to supervisees, organizations, and clients influence supervisory practice.
Grounded in professional supervision standards, including NASW guidance and relevant regulatory frameworks such as COMAR 10.42.08, this course emphasizes clear communication, reflective decision-making, and developmentally appropriate support of supervisees. Participants will explore strategies for moving from reactive problem-solving to deliberate supervision that promotes competence, accountability, and professional growth while protecting client welfare.
