Our Older Adult Specialists work closely with county and state-wide aging partners to provide resources and guidance to help Older Adults living with Behavioral Health Disorders and/or Dementia.
Resources for aging residents include housing options, inpatient and outpatient mental health resources, and dementia resources. Our Older Adult Specialists work in Anne Arundel County, Prince George’s County, Baltimore County, Carroll County, Cecil County, Harford County, and Howard County.
Our staff members provide trainings for organizations and the community on a variety of topics such as Next Steps: When a Loved One Needs a Higher Level of Care, Dementia and the Community, and Navigating Behavioral Health Resources.

The Anne Arundel County Department of Aging and Disabilities Adult Evaluation and Review Services (AERS) is for county residents age 18 and older who are chronically ill or disabled and have a need for assisted community placements, nursing homes or Medical Assistance-funded personal care.
Licensed clinical social workers and registered nurses perform comprehensive assessments on AERS clients in an effort to allow them to live in the safest and least restrictive environment possible, while fostering independence and personal welfare.

The Anne Arundel County Department of Aging and Disabilities serves as court-appointed guardian of person for Anne Arundel County residents age 65 years or older who are unable to make health and personal decisions for themselves due to a physical or mental disability.
